Many of us have succumbed to the idea of making website(s) whether its for pleasure, business or both and yet all of us has the same basic question regarding our internet venture.

How to increase traffic to our site and why?

Well foremost the WHY.. we need to increase our traffic in order to increase our page rankings (PR) and this is especially preferred by internet marketers, the more visitors they have to their site the higher percent of income generating process they can achieved. While to non-marketing individuals its a good way to be notice when your in the top ranking and that could lead to chances that someone may buy your site or you’re lucky maybe Google would be interested with your site.

Next question is HOW.. How can one skyrocket to a higher PR and have a large number of visitors to their site. These are the factors I have notice in most websites that have a large number of visitors going back and forth and even staying for a few minutes just to read whats found in those web pages.

1. Keyword as a Title. Don’t just decide on a title for your site, think about a number of keywords for your site which is relevant to what you are displaying in your site also take into consideration that if your having this certain products what usually would come into the mind of the buyer or visitors when their looking for your product. Use a Brand name if you think it could attract your visitors.

2. Concentrate on your topics. Make about 5 - 10 articles which contains what your site is all about. When you have that made, try to break free from your topics once in awhile like 2 articles thats different with your main focus but don’t get to comfy with freedom from your topic or you’ll make your site unorganized and unprofessional and could drive away visitors.

3. Create links for your site. Having to link to different sites or web communities enables you to market your site and encourage visitors to visit your site.

4. Use Ads for your site. Like text ads, banner and images ads to increase visitors but don’t put too much advertisement in your site or else it would look like a yellow pages of a directory. Keep in mind that you want your visitors to keep coming back to your site and have a look at your articles not the other way around.

5. Try submitting to different directories. Submit your site to different directories to increase traffic to your site. Although some Web junkie normally doesn’t recommend this but it still can add traffic to your site when you do so and we love to have a lot of visitors going back and forth to our site rather than going to someones site.

6. Create a Hype or Promotion or a Contest. Have a contest in your site,or have freebies when they sign-up to gather more traffic to your site.

Well I hope this could help you a lot. I know my site doesn’t count much but some of this guides really help me a lot and one of the reason I scrape my PR2 ranking site so that I could concentrate well and have an organized site.
