Individuals or groups who are getting into the flow of internet marketing usually ask what is the purpose of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and what can they benefit from it. I know most of you would react to this as your idea is that if you don’t know SEO then don’t bother starting a business in the internet marketing.

1. Improving Website Appearance. a visible and eye capturing website appearance can instantly get the attention of your visitors to increase traffic to your site. Its like having to invite friends over to your house but if your house won’t be pleasing to look at your friends would think otherwise if they would want to visit your place again.

2. Include Tags. Create anchor tags for your site, using your title, meta tags and alt tags for your picture. Knowing your keywords and checking statistics could help you a lot in increasing your traffic toward your site.

3. Submitting to different directories or what they call as link building. Having your site present in different directories of the search engines could help boost hits to your site and improve your ranking and could lead to a higher Page Rank (PR).

4. Always update your site, never try to leave your site hanging as your visitors would gradually decrease knowing that the information that they will read is the same as since last months content.
